Week 8
For this week, we learned about Harmony, Movement and Rhythm and we were supposed to do photo collage as our exercise.
So, I decided to buy a magazine and search for some inspirations on colours for my Harmony artwork.

Then, I decided to use some of their cosmetics photos and the theme pink and gold to create harmony. As you can see, there are three 'CANDID by Revlon' tubes making a visual movement flow, making a path down.

Week 7
We learned about lines, dots, scale and size.
I was inspired by my pet dog as I was home sick during the week. So, I decided to draw my pet dog using just dots and lines.

Week 6
We learned about Perspective, Hierarchy, Direction and Alignment.
I took photos of the Sydney Opera House, the view of the buildings near Circular Quay and the D'Latour building for the height. I photoshop them together on the staircase I took on the campus.

| I was trying to show that along the way our life is still as busy as ever. ( staircases shows like the road and the buildings shows like how messy life can be ) |
Week 5
We don't have any class for this week because it was a public holiday
Week 4
This week's class, we learnt about Patterns, Texture, Surface and Repetition.
I used the green part of the sponge, the rough one to create the brick texture for the background, and I plucked some leaves from my friend's backyard for the leaf stamping. For the flowers, I used my thumb to create the flowers.
Week 3
For this weeks' class, we were told to do based on Asymmetry, Symmetry or Balance. So, I decided on Asymmetry.
I got my inspiration from this song called 'A Million Dreams' by The Greatest Showman. I'm using the line 'A million dreams are keeping me awake' as a foundation for my Asymmetry art.
The candle represents us, humans. After it is being light up, it represents us being alive. The galaxy represents dreams. So, it shows us that whenever we start dreaming, we feel as though we are alive.
Week 2
Next class, we learned about Gestalt and our lecture was given by Miss Sherry, our lecturer. After that, she told us to group ourselves of four as we will be in charge of the lectures starting the next class.
The designs for my Gestalt
The chosen design, I expanded it to A4 size
Feedback from Miss Sherry : The side profile is isn't as obvious for both, The smoke which represents the tears flowing is too thick. Try to make the nose not sharp and the chin bigger.
After receiving the feedbacks, I brainstormed and decided to do a new Gestalt while keeping the advice given by Miss Sherry in mind and created this.
You can see a butterfly while its wings are two obvious side profiles facing each other
Week 1
Our first class was mainly on introduction and we were told to find a pair to answer questions and dra each other's self portrait. After that, Miss Sherry briefly explained to us on our module and what we will do. She also gave us a lecture about contrast. So, our first exercise is making a contrast art using black and white paper only.
My first few designs on contrast
My other designs
After that, I finally decided to stick with this design.
This is about depression. You know, like when it feels like you are trapped in the darkness trying to find your way out to the point you burst into tears. That's how depression feels like.
I traced it using butter paper so that I can cut out the black paper
This is my end product for this assignment
